Ricardo grew up in Sao Paulo, Brazil and at the age of 14 he started on his Jiu-Jitsu journey. He first started training under Professor Marcelo Blade where he received his blue belt in 2007 at the age of 17. In 2007 he started training under Master Marcos Barbosa where he achieved the rank of black belt in 2013. In 2020 Ricardo received his second degree at which time he left Brazil and started teaching Jiu-Jitsu in Kyrgyzstan before making his way to the United States in 2022 to teach under Master Renzo Gracie at Renzo Gracie Utah Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy. Ricardo has achieved many prestigious titles in Jiu-Jitsu competitions through the years. Some of these being the BJJ Stars Black Belt Edition, Brazilian Nationals, Mundial CBJJE culminated by a gold medal at the IBJJF American Nationals in 2021.
Grayson Greener started training at West Side Jiu-Jitsu in Ogden, Utah in 2007 under Professor Mark Johnson. In 2014 Grayson moved to Salt Lake City where he trained under Professor Eddie Edmunds. He received his black belt from the legendary Pedro Sauer in 2015, and first-degree black belt in 2018. Grayson has over a decade of instruction experience, having been an assistant instructor since 2009 and a head instructor since 2012; Grayson has been teaching at Renzo Gracie Utah since 2020. He has also competed in MMA and Jiu-Jitsu locally. Grayson graduated Cum Laude from Weber State University in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. In 2022 he graduated Summa Cum Laude from Grand Canyon University with a master’s degree in psychology. Grayson applies these psychological and learning principles to allow students to quickly master the fundamentals of Jiu-Jitsu. His instruction is catered to all body types and skill levels. These self-defense-based classes will teach students to handle a variety of real-world altercations.
